Is there on site camping?

May West is a non camping event, but Glasgow boasts a wealth of accommodation providers across the city.

Are there any site rules?

There are a few things that it is worth noting and in the most part are for your own health & safety and for the health & safety of the beautiful environment that will still be there when you’ve all gone home.

  • No food and drink can be brought into the event site.
* Broken glass can cause a number of injuries to people, animals and wildlife so please don’t attempt bring any on site.
  • Whilst we all love our pets please don’t bring them to May West, it’s not fair on them or other festival goers.
  • Fireworks, flares and pyrotechnics may be exciting but they are also dangerous so let’s leave those to the professionals and out of the May West site.
  • Chinese lanterns are pretty but again they can be dangerous to fellow festival goers, park wildlife and local residents so please don’t bring them with you.
  • It goes without saying that weapons and drugs (including New Psychoactive Substances) are illegal and will not be tolerated on site.
  • Please remember that we are in Scotland where it’s not uncommon to experience four seasons in one day and we’d urge you to dress accordingly. Some sunscreen might seem optimistic but doesn’t go a miss either.
  • If you have to carry medicine, it might be worthwhile notifying the medical team on site upon your arrival, particularly if you require anything to be refrigerated.
  • We won’t imprison you on site so if you want to go in to Glasgow or explore the surrounding area you are free to do so.
  • Please note that any bags will be subject to searches when entering the event site.
Will I be required to bring ID (proof of age)?

Scotland operates a ‘Challenge 25’ policy so if you have the good fortune to look younger than your years please ensure that you bring clear photographic ID to May West. We will only accept the following forms of ID: Current Photo Driving Licence or Passport.

Are there any age restrictions?

All ages are welcome at the May West, under 5s can attend for free but it is worth noting that there will be no specific provision for children at the event. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18 at all times.

Can I bring a pet?

Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to bring any pets/animals to May West.

Who do I ask for help?

We’ll be adding more information in the lead up to the festival, in the meantime, if you have any questions please email info@may-west.com with any queries not covered on the website.
